RT2/50 Fixed bias or cathode-biased

wondering. I have yellow Jackets but I realize the model I have is for Fixed Bias amps...

I'm sure it's been asked a million times here, but....

Fixed. Any time you see a bias adjustment available that's a clue that it's not cathode biased.

although the Yellow Jackets will give me class A, it won't drop the volume noticeably. even though the lit says YJS Pentode Yellow Jackets drop output 50% - 70%

It does allow me to get more power tube break up at a lower volume on the RM50, the bass suffers

I know, I know, speakers, et al.

one more question, do i need to have it set up with 2 cabs to use switching mode or can I set it up with a single cab, switching from channel 1 to channel 2 at will?

You can run 1 cab, and switch between each power amp channel in the same way as the RM4. Choose the channel, press and hold to program.
