Does anyone know how to get a little more gain out of the Plexi module?
How to do a modification to it?
Just want to be able to hit the input a little harder internally.

Thanks

Will Randall's warranty still cover these modules if they are modded? I assume not but it would be sweet if they did.

I'm looking at the PCB layout of the SL+ module, and my own module, but they don't match up =/ The R31 is behind my Level pot, and I have a C5 as opposed to a C15 next to my C14. What's up with this?

Yeah If you look at a Clean module. The layout is VERY different compared to the PDF layouts.

I did a bit more research after making that post, the PDF layouts are almost all the same to show the differences in the values in case you wanted to try and switch stuff out.

Never mind about the JCM800 mod question I had here a minute ago, I found Pete's site and it answered my questions Smile

Anybody know of a DIY mod for the XTC? I'm fairly new to modding the modules but I'd like to try some out. Razz

This is a great question, I have searched the site have found a few minor mods and tweaks but it seems like everyone is pretty tight lipped about doing significant mods.

I am fairly new to the mts world but I did purchase the xtc module first and I think it needs a mod immediately.
I followed the links in this thread and found out that in my module the c1 is where the c3 cap should be.
The picture points at a redish cap which is on the left edge of the pcb whereas in my module the c3 is a yellow cap right behind the bright switch. The layout of the xtc also shows that the cap on th left is c1.
Which one should I replace Question Question Question

I think there should be a tutorial for us guys that yet haven't figured these modules out and what the components really do for us. The circuit itself isn't that difficult once you get the hang of how a pre-amp is designed, but it doesn't let one in on the possible variables.

I found a module schematic for the SL+.

http://www.amp-rocks.com/drafts/SL_1.pdf

Should give you a decent idea of the tone stack.
