UPDATE: I had a little time to get our singer in for one-take scratch vocals yesterday so the new drummer could have some vocal cues to go by. Spent a few hours mixing things a bit. Not the final vocals or mix by far, but much improved. Check them out now, hope you like them!
So our drummer told us last month that after August he has to throw in the towel. He's leaving on good terms and filling out our gigging schedule which is very cool of him. We decided to lug a portable recording rig out of my home studio to our practice space for our last rehearsal to capture the original tracks we have never recorded to help the new drummer with learning our material. I was behind the board and tracked my guitars later at home. All of the rhythm section tracks and our other guitarists track were done live and in one take without a click, no overdubs. My tracks all have two rhythm tracks panned 60% left and right. Clean guitar is panned in the center as are lead overdubs.
So here are 3 tunes, all featuring modules modded by Pete Turley. These are rough working mixes and the vocals are yet to be tracked. You'll have to turn it up a good bit, since it hasn't been mixed or mastered yet and the levels are still low. Basically you have what when to hard disk with levels set.

This track has Pete's Plexi for both rhythm tracks. The gain was set at 1:00. The lead is Pete's XTC with the gain around 1:30-2:00 and effects are reverb and delay from my Xpression.

It features the red channel of Pete's Recto panned to the left, gain at 1:00. The track to the right is the Plexi, gain around 3:00. The slide guitar is the XTC with some reverb and the gain backed down to 10:00.

The clean guitar is Pete's Deluxe with the gain at 10:30. It has the Plexi with the gain around 12:30-1:00 for both tracks. The flanger in the middle is the Recto again, with the gain at 1:00 but the guitars volume rolled back about halfway.

I play a PRS Custom 22 on all these tracks with stock Dragon II pickups. The rig was my RM4, RT2/50 and MTS 2x12 with the Neo 12's. The RT2/50 was set up for switching mode with Tung Sol 5881's and EL34B's. The 5881's were used for the Deluxe and Recto, the EL34B's for the Plexi and XTC. I also opted against miking the cab and used the mic eliminator on the back of the cab, which I was very pleased with. The 12AX7's on the RM4 and RT2/50 chassis' were all JJ ECC83's. The modules were as follows:
Deluxe: JJ ECC82 and TS 12AX7
Plexi: JJ ECC803 and TS 12AX7
Recto: Sovtek 12AX7WA and JJ ECC83
XTC: JJ ECC83 and JJ ECC83
Our other guitarist uses a Epiphone LP Custom through several Boss pedals into a Peavey Classic 100 and Mesa vertical 2x12 with the top speaker open backed.
