What MTS module is it based on? Look forward to hearing it...

It is based on heavily modified Modern module.
Including change of all capacitors for higher quality ones and different values of some pots.

How are you guys doing the faceplates... sticker? New plate, then paint/screened by third party? Maybe i will take several to a kindergarten class and let them design them... and then get in trouble for child labor... Finger-paint face plates!

Just a heads up. You might want to change the name to something like SLDN for the module. Just a legal thing. Mike might not appreciate it even though it might be accurate sounding.

Yes,legal thing-I understand. this module is mine, it is not for sale...
I plan to make different faceplate in colors of old SP77/88 preamps(purple metallic and white lettering). And of course without official SLDN logotype. I?m big fan of Soldano amps and I respect Mike?s work and know how.

I compared this module side by side with my Soldano SL-60(60 watt version of legendary SLO head), and I think it?s pretty close! And the Crunch channel sounds like Soldano ATOMIC with more mids and little more gain. I like it.
During Xmass I plan to make soundclips.

I?m not selling modified modules, but I can modify your module, if you send me it.
These days I?m working on another module for my friend, with specific mid-gain british sound (based on Orange). I?ll send pics and soundclips too.

I really dont know the whole Soldano-deal. I never had the budget to hear them for myself..but so may people I respect use em..so I cant wait for those clips!!!

Yeah, these knobs are from SOLDANO SL-60 head which I modified to SLO Specs (two channel w.crunch switch on normal channel, Sprague Orange Drops replacement caps + Scoop mod, Depth mod, FX loop after master volume controls). Customer wanted classic black chickenheads, so original knobs (which rests on my desk) I used for this module...

really interesting, back when I had my Bogner ecstacy 100b- I heard a modified SLO and they were two of the best high gain tones I've ever heard of. I sold my Bogner for 4k because I bought it for 1500$ in 1992 and I'm still kicking myself. Those old ecstacy's were unbelievable.

Hey how much did you say you charge to mod the modern?? I just got a used one off ebay and would love the SOLO 100 sound. Cant wait for the sound clips!!

I used Tweed module for this modification. It?s heavily modified.
