According to the user guide it seems that there is a dummy load attached to the silent switch, because the silent switch is build in order to record the xlr output with a speaker cab emulation in silence. What is weird is that it makes the external output speaker active too. Not sure i'm clear...

The "silent" position makes the external speaker active...and cut the internal one. No need to disconnect something. By the way it's not explained in the user guide. :?

I wonder if there is a way to cut the internal speaker while an external one is used. (of course i can disconnect one cable of the internal speaker)

I just read your comment again. The first mod gives you clarity but it seems that you want to get a presence which work before 3pm when you turn the knob. You can improve that by using a reverse log pot. The presence, in my RM50 head, uses a 25k linear pot. Change it for the same value but...

You are wrong. Here, this is the type of cap which is more important. I can't remember exactly the value but it was the same or almost ie 4700pf. These caps work perfectly, nothing too much bright or sharp and more you increase the presence more you get clarity and details. They are perfect...
