don't run g majors or g systems in a parallel loop unless you do kill dry. The delayed dry path in the parallel loop causes comb filtering which sucks tone. Serial loops are boss in most cases. m0jo knows wuts up, so listen to him.
 thanks for the kind words guys.... sorry i have not been around much lately, seems life has gotten totally busy for me... my free time has gone negative. But I'm here to help out as I can.
I have also moved away from mts.... mesa triple recto is doing amazing things for me...
i've been using the gmajor (original) for years without issue. Primarily for reverb, delay, and gate. At this point though i am considering the rp1000 and the four cable method this would eliminate my rack (gmajor) and my boss pedals...
i just put a 50 or 75 ohm R in series with it (i forget which...). It slowed it down enough to make it quiet, and it still moves plenty of air. My professional SWAG is that the fan moves way more air than required. The point of the fan if to cool the heatsinks on the modules (for the most part)...
hi m0jo
hmm... seems you've tried most of the stuff we'd expect to be wrong..... since the front panel switch works and that switch uses the midi IC chip (it's a little PIC micro-controller) I don't think it has lost it's brains or is zapped. You know it may be damaged, I'm just saying my...
haa haaa haaa haaa haa.. any money, you crack me up....
okay more serious... well, we don't gig for money so we generally don't care. We are loosely coupled to the scene since we gig only a few time per year. We have settle on the Red Room as being our venue of choice due to it's small size...
do you want a stereo setup, i.e. use a stereo effect to drive each amp? OR, do you just want two speakers cabs spaced across the room?
If it's the latter... you just run a speaker cable form the Randall to the other cab... set output impedance accordingly. Are both cabs the same impedance?
So i'll be take'n my Rm4 w/ Mesa Rectifier 2:100 out for some prog in NE Portland on April 22, 9PM. I think I have it down to two maybe three modules. The 1086 works really well with this mesa 2:100 for the articulate passages.. my tweaked Treadplate is my primary lead and heavy rhythm. I have a...
okay perhaps a bad tube. Swap what you can and see. Have you tried removing the module and power the amp on to see if it still makes pops? Do you have a second module to try?
It's hard to diagnose remotely, but I did experienced pops in one of my Rm100's. The failure was "arc over" in the power...
yeah, i mean ANY amp with an effects send can be used with another power section. If you are not going to use the tube power section of an amp you just pull all the power tubes.... effectively turns an amp into a "pre amp", a heavy one albeit...
