I'm planning to send off some modules to get modded by Rob. Really interested in the Ubersonic, Hammerhead, and Cali-Lead. Eventually I'd like to get an SL2X, or perhaps Jeff will come out of retirement and mod again.
As the title says, has MTS ever let you down? I don't mean tonally so much as durability/ reliability. I am wondering if these amps and modules are built to hold up for many years to come, especially compared to other amps/ preamps available.
Thanks for any responses!
An update in case anyone else is looking for the answer: It works just fine. I took the pre loop output of the RM4 straight into my mixer, and the post effects loop outputs into the L/R inputs of the Eventide (just for this test, in the future it will be one input per effect unit, with a Y...
I have a Lexicon and an Eventide unit, both of which I intend to run in stereo. The dual outputs (post loop) would be perfect to drive these two units, which would then be summed in a stereo mixer with the dry signal.
Has anyone used the pre loop output of the RM4 while also using the post loop (stereo) outputs? Does it work? Are there any major sound deficiencies. I am thinking I can save a little space if I use the pre-loop output for my dry sound, and use the post loop outputs to drive my effects units...
I feel like the cab works well for my Mesa heads, but not sold on it sounding good with other amps I have tried through it (MTS, non Mesa preamps)
I have a 1086 and Mash-oldano on the way. Looking forwards to playing both!
What type of speaker do you use with your MTS setup? Do you alter speaker choice when you swap out modules? Was it ever revealed how modules were developed, IE were all modules developed using the same speaker, or were each developed using the type of speaker typically associated with that type...
My best sounding lead module (so far) is a stock chrome face recto. I have two inbound modules (one modified, one unmodified) that I expect to sound much better for lead.
I believe my "luck" with the recto module (compared to so many others that I've read) stems from my Mesa v30 cab (seems most...
Just as the title states: How many modules do you have in your MTS collection?
As of right now, I have 6, with number 7 on the way. All but one are stock (modded is a JF SuperClean).
And for a bonus point: what's the maximum number you had at one time?
Thanks for the responses! I got the RM4 in today, and like what I'm hearing, but will definitely be looking into modded modules soon. I played the 4 stock modules the RM came with through my Mesa Roadster's power section, and the recto module particularly stood out as not very authentic. The...
Hi guys!
After a long deliberation and moving gear to fund the purchase, I am now joining the modular family. I was looking at the synergy stuff last night and thinking how I wanted two of the syn002s because 4 module preamps hardly ever come up for sale. Well, one became available for sale...
