Nope doesn't sound like it. In my amp it is a brown round cylinder that sticks straight up off the board. Looks kind of like an elctrolytic cap. It is right next to the connector that connects the midi board to the amp. Marked F1F. I am going to just call Randall on Monday and order one from them.

Where would you get one of these fuses? Is Randall the only place to get one, or do they have them at Radio Shack? The reason I ask is that I blew mine out by hooking up the footswitch to the amp when it was powered up.

I saw him at the clinic in Charlotte and he was great. The only complaint I have about the clinic is that he was way to loud. I mean wayyyyyyyy to loud. My ears were almost bleeding. I had to walk to the side of the stage to try and lessen the pain.

Randall does seem to be quite a mess all of the time lately. Someone over there needs to get Randall's **** together. I nominate R/D Man to take control of Randall Amplification.

I haven't really looked inside my RM100 that much, but I am wondering if it something as simple as an internal fuse. So if you are comfortable doing so you may want to check and see.

I think it is a nice little amp, but $800 bucks for a 20 Watt combo amp, give me a friggin break. That is priced way to high.

I tried a Chineese tube in V1 today and I hated it. I like the russian tubes better.

I think you may need to call Randall for this info, or send Bruce Egnater an email on it. He seems to be pretty good about answering his emails.

So if V1 is the most important tube then how critical is it to have higher dollar tubes in the modules themselves?

I assume the preamp tube behind the input jack is V1. But which one is the effects loop tube is it the next one over or the farthes one away from V1. I wouldn't mind changing the effects tube to a lower gain tube like a 5751, or a 12AT7 or 12AU7.

In the manual it states it can run 6550's which if I am not mistaken has the same plate dissipation as the KT88 and pretty much the same tube. So I don't think a quad of them would cause this amp a problem. I am only talking about running a pair of them in mine though mixed with two 6L6's.

Yes should work just fine in the RM100
