Filter's latest

So I just got Filter's new album "Anthems for the Damned." It was not a dissapointment, its actually a pretty great album, especially juxtapose with some of the crap coming out these days (I hate indie rock). However, I can't help but feel like he missed the mark, like perhaps the producer reined him in where he should have egged him on, or vice versa. Tones werent bad (although the bass tones did seem lacking for me), but they weren't super memorable either. "Tile of Record" had just some of my favorite tones of that decade on it, and the mix that Ben Grosse did was absolutely flawless.

I'm going to see them live for the first time on monday night. I am excited, I have been waiting to catch them for 10 years (albeit this is not the line-up I would have picked). I hear they put on a good show...
