Hey all,

I am new to the mts world and just picked up an RM100c and an XTC module. I had the amp for a week without having any modules and I ran a Verellen tube pre into the fx loop and all has been good. I got an XTC module from another forum member and when i try to use it there is an awful hum. Way too loud to be right.

Is this a know issue?
I tried jumpering the fx loop and that didn't work.

please let me know if anyone else has had this problem and knows a fix.

Lots of things to check:

1. If you have spare preamp tubes, that's a good place to start...Switch one spot at a time until you find it...Be sure to check the tubes in the amp itself and the module...
2. Clean your inputs and such with some contact cleaner - work it in good...
3. Try a different cable...

If those don't do it:
1. Does the module cause the same problem in each slot?
2. What are your mod settings?
3. Possible shitty cable??? YOu never know...:)

Good luck!

Thanks Matt.

A shitty cable was definitely the culprit.
I replaced it and added a power conditioner into the mix and the hum disappeared.

much appreciated

Thanks.
I am pumped on these modules that I may go bankrupt.
It's a good thing that I am already broke so the fall won't be far.

Be careful....once the disease gets ya.....you're done for. You think that stock XTC rocks? Try one of the modded versions.
