i've never tried it but i had a crate gt cab that had seventy/80s in it and i thought it was horrible. then again it was a crate cab, but i'm pretty sure it was baltic birch like the blue voodoo cabs. cab dimensions have alot to do with sound, but speakers are probably the bigger part. depends on what tone you're goin for. i'd personally fine a used mesa recto or maybe a randall xl used for that price.
