Rocktron Xpression & ground control pro

I would like to known if it's possible with the mode ''instant access'' of the ground control ( buttons 1 to 8 is used like a stompboxe ) and with the Xpression preset?

On the manuel of the ground control it's said that most multi effects can be use with this option like a on off pedal but i don't known how to set my Xpression

I believe you need to set the Rocktron from program change to continious controler mode

continious controler mode is for real time change with a expression pedal

Actually, it can be done with any footswitch on a midi pedal
difference being you won't have any varying control

Now I'm quite rusty, since last time I used MIDI CC was 8 years ago
but I'm sure there are some more knowledgable peeps here that can give you the skinny

Expression pedals can give you a swell, while buttons only a switch

you'll only be controlling the highest and lowest value, nothing in between
or in case of (example) echo on/off even a expression pedal will only
switch on or of at the least or most of it's sweep

so an expression pedal can give varying values (example 0,1 ,2 ,3, 4,.... 'till 127 and back )
while a 'button' will only switch between 0 AND 127

so let's say pedal button 5 has midi number 7 (check pedal documentation)
on your rocktron unit you assign reverb on/off to cont. 7, lowest value 0 highest 127

note, this only works in 1 patch

finaly a do not use 4 preset option on my ground control. I would need a CGX if i go with this option
