Hello,

I recently bought an apparently older RT2/50 and the chassis fan is beyond loud - it sounds like I have a unix server sitting on my Avatar 412 cab!

What are my options? Can I just disconnect it? Or replace it with something quiet?

There is no way I can record with this thing in the same room the way it is.

TYIA,

Matt

Some early production units had an incorrect fan installed. You don't have to change the fan though, you can add a resistor to the installed one. As explained to me by Randall:
Install a 47ohm 5 watt resistor in line to the fan wire. This will cut the fan speed in half. If you want it slower, increase the resistor value to a 56 ohm (5 watt)
