I tried my sl+ today the latest version(blackface),, in my rm50 with 6l6 and the sound is just great with no pedals (maybe a isp decimator if you turn the amp loud) , and i also tried the plexi which i expect to get mod in the futur i dont know by whom yet,, and might be a van halen mod,, this one sounds great too with less gain and more trebly and clearer maybe,, i think i would put my brahma in 3 third position with no pedals ,,, but the brahma with an overdrive or pod or a digitech sounds great. I wish i could try an ultra xl.
I prefer 6l6 over el34 ,, i guess el 34 will sound great with a gibson and give you a warmer tone and 6l6 better crunch with maple neck maybe, but this is just from my little experience.
