What to put in my Blackstar?

I have a Blackstar Ht-5 that I have to say I really love.

However as any guitarist knows, how else can I change my tone?

Right now its got a sovtek in there for the 12ax7. Any suggestions for a replacement tube and what kind of sound it will give it?

GREAT tone, especially for the price.

Anyway here's what I have done/use with it:

Nos sylvania 12ax7 and a nos sylvania 12bh7.

I use a ts808 to clean boost it, plus and eq in the loop.
I typically use my randall cab with v30/h30.

What speakers are you using? Imo speakers are on the the biggest differences when you're trying to change your tone.

on the cheap, I swapped out the Sovteck for an EH and thought it improved it slightly. I generaly don't like sovteks

I'm using either my Randall Cab which has a legend 15 with a legend 12 on top and i switched in 1 gt12-75 which gives it some nice bite. I also have a 2x12 which has a gt12-75 with a vintage 30.

If you want more gain go for a Telefunken or Shuguang 12AX7 in the preamp.
