Just finished swapping my old 6l6's for some EH EL34's. I set the bias at 38 and noticed how unsteady the reading was on the multi meter and how big of a difference it made by turning the adjustment screw only a tiny bit. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also I was curious if anyone checks there bias settings often? Can it be that volitile?

Yeah, the bias adjustment is VERY sensitive on my RM50B as well. However, the reading stays fairly calm after I make an adjustment. I believe bias can vary depending on the voltage the amp sees, so it could vary from venue to venue unless you are plugging into a voltage regulator.

Yep, mine does the same thing. I just "think" about turning the screwdriver and it cahnges the reading. Mine is that way no matter what type tubes I put in there.
