Hi there, Changed the c1 cap on a xtc to a .001u orange drop and also changed r14 to a 47k resistor for a friend and after doing this he complained about a lot of hissing at highish gain ,but it amplified when the bright switch was switched on. Does anybody know why this could be,is it to be...

Have you tried the amp switch with out the foot switch plugged in?

Hi tscharma , That sounds like a starting point as for specific tone I dont know yet , because it is a mod I am doing for my guitar tutor because he said it was pretty flat and didnt inspire him like his plexi. I shal do these mods and see what he thinks . thanks again much appreciated dazz

Hi tschrama thanks for the info, just to clarify is that piggy back the cap on to r9, and is that add a 2k7 resistor and a 220nf cap to r10. Also is it best to use orange drop caps for this? Thank you again for the help dazz
