I still have both rm50 head and a combo. Also a jvm410 head that I really like most of the time. I still use all of them for different things. The mts amps hold their own and there is no real reason not to use them. I think we all like variety and it's fun to try different amps. I could sell the...
I can get those for you in a couple of days, out of town till thurs. did you try looking it up from sweetwater or some online dealer. Sometimes even discontinued stuff will show up?
I know the 1086 sounds great with the right setup, but the super v is often overlooked as a great stocker. I have had one for years, and for a Marshall/vox sound it is really a very good module. When pushed near the top of the gain, it reminds me of a old Marshall pushed with a 808. Classic rock...
Love muff pedals as well. I have found they sound the best with a simple blackface module with my 50 combo. That's why I have never sold that module. What versions are your pedals? I have a old green Russian and a few clones. But the Russian is the beast. I have a rm 50 head as well with a 2x12...
I have to agree. It's fun to get new stuff, I have been playing a Jvm 410 head through a EVH cab for the last yr or so. Love it and it is a very versitile amp. But it always sounds like a marshall. Just tonight I plugged in to my rm50 combo that I have owned since they were just getting started...
I can't see why you wouldn't, 34's are fairly cheap for 2 tubes. Try them or even kt66 tubes sound great in some marshals. I have el34's in my combo and 6l6's in the head both rm50's. They do sound different , both running the same cab. I will say I was surprised the 6l6 tubes sound good even...
All I know is that was supposed to be a 8 ohm speaker from randall when I bought the amp new. I really should have checked. I haven't had that speaker in a the combo for years, and just decided to put it back in for a change. I actually ended up leaving the lead 80 in there after all. What a...
Just a heads up, I was moving speakers around and putting the stock g12-T75
in my 50, always have run it at 8 ohms from the stock amp position. For whatever reason, I looked at the small printed info near the wire leads and it says 16 ohms. son of a. I have had that speaker mixed with all kinds...
All or most of the forum members here are always very helpfull and friendly but for me when you suggested turning down the guitar volume with the comment " that's what it's there for" you implied he is a dumbass that doesn't know how to use the simple concept of a volume control. I suspect that...
I also have a combo, and a head both 50's. The cab sounds so much fuller than the punchy and somewhat beaming combo. Why don't you plug the combo into the cab and see how that sounds. I'll bet that it sounds as good.
I have one to sell if interested. All stock and like you I have been saving it. I think the 1086 and the super v are the best stock modules available. Oh the blackface as well for a good clean or pedal module. Sound great for fuzz. Pm me if interested, have to think about price though. Whatever...
After more time and comparisons, the mids on the marshall are more pronounced and punchy than the modules I have. So to see if I could replicate the tone of the jvm, I add a eq pedal in the loop of my rm50 and was actually able to get very close if I wanted to. I am trying to see if I could live...
Deoxit, red can at radio shack. If the tubes are good try this in all the inputs including the loops. Worked for me in 3 different amps. One time it was the loop but that time there was no sound at all. The other 2 were intermittent volume issues. Took two tries on the loop issue and a old vox...
Just wanted to share my experience with you all on the 2 amps. First of all I got a great deal on the jvm410H. I have not owned a Marshall amp and even though I was not really looking, the opportunity came up and I jumped. I played it exclusively for a month or so and finally after the newness...
My favorite stockers are the blackface, plexi and super v, and the 1086. That's why I still have them. The blackface for pedals mostly, the super v is just a great module, very versitile clean sound and good od too.
I have a old Gigmods SL and if he copied it or similar it should sound pretty good. Pete turley was the first one that modded and they were a huge jump from stock. I still own the SL.
