Hi, want to ask you what are the differences between those two heads:

Thanks.

Never seen one like the top head. What years are they from (SN on the back)?

But here's something about the top one.

And there's 2 on this page about 1/2 way down..

They probably just ran out of the skill/bones logo..or there were a limited run before the logo.

I have one with the gold Randall Logo and I've had probably 3 with Skully...one of them sounded different but I put it down to poor production control.

warlok - this is just an Ebay item, have no information about SN. Thanks for the links.
JKD - so gold Randall sounds good, right. Thank you for the input.
Rob - thank you for the additional info.

P.S. I've also noticed there is no a signal lamp /?/ on the first head.

BTW, are these heads able to run both El34 & 6L6 or mix of them?
Sorry, I'm not enough familiar with the Randall RM heads.
Thanks.

Yes, there's an online video with biasing instructions somewhere and the bias ratings are in the manual.

All you need to know is that the outside two power tubes are a pair and the inside two power tubes are a pair.

I loved to put EL34 in the middle two and 6L6 in the outer.....nothing stopping you doing it the other way.

I usually had 6L6GC at 32ma and EL34 at 36mA.....most often I'm rocking 6550C or KT-88 these days for bigger sounds.

The top one is the same as my old Lynchbox
I sold the head to BuriedOrBurned as he posted about it in the other thread.

It was one that had been flown into the UK for Lynch to do a clinic at a store here.
Lynch brought his own modules, but signed the head and cab when he was there.
I got it secondhand from someone that got it straight after the clinic.

It predated the skull and bones graphic, and the cab had been loaded with standard g12ms at the time although later updated to super V's before i got it

The photos in front of the IKEA racks is from my workshop.
I sold it because it just took up so much room and was seriously loud for a semi domestic setting - I now use M4/RM4s and smaller power amps.
