I've seen bands that have their racks and that, with like room for heads etc.. I was just wondering what the purpose is of having 2 of the same heads? For example http://a426.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/00985/52/44/985124425_l.jpg

Thanks

It's either to use for backup (so only one is used at a time), or when they want multiple settings/configurations....

Could also be using a splitter in front of them, like a deciever, to thicken up their sound. I have done that with smaller amps. The dude from Lamb of God does that. Plays one set up for lows and highs, and the other mostly mids.

We run Stereo, one head to stage left with no effects(no delay or chorus). Stage Right has the chorus and delay. It creates a really full thick sound.

99% of the time one is a backup. Usually if a guy is running to heads to blend a sound he will have 4.
