This could be a stupid question.. But would it be wise to replace a single power tube with a different make?
One of my tubes was damaged and I had a new 6L6 of a different make laying around. So I popped it in and biased it up.
Seems to be fine just wanted another opinion.

Thanks!

Good question - I wonder the same myself. I'd think that if they are different makes, that they will react slightly diffrently electrically, and since they are paired, could cause issues. The severity of which, I have no idea? Curious to see an answer from someone who knows... Rob?

In theory, this is okay if using an RM100 with independent bias. I'd be a little hesitant if the tube it's in a pair with did not have matching measurables though. If you don't know that info it's best to treat it as a band aid, not a solution.

Thanks Rob.
Just ordered a pair of EL34L.
Love the 6L6/EL34 combo in my Mark III going to try them in my RM100KH.
