Volume wise they are very similar. You'll have no problem cutting through with either of these amps. The RM100 seems a little more dynamic just because it's a tube amp but being solid state, the V2 feels tighter.

So you're saying that the switch lights up, but doesn't change the amp channels. If the FS is powering up it should still be switching have you tried reprogramming the FS by selecting a button on it, select the corresponding channel on the amp, and then press and hold the Channel Select/Store...

No you can not use the Control One as a MIDI foot controller for an RM4. The Control One is really only to be used with specific Digitech processors and has a different pin configuration on the output so it can receive power from the piece that is controlling it. Go with a Behringer FCB1010...
