pod xt pro for preamp?'

can I use a pod xt pro as a preamp with just a power amp. the Pod has a pile of killer amp models and effects. do I need a unit that is a straight rack preamp or will the pod work as preamp?

or how about a zoom 9150 valve efx proccessor . I have seen it advertized on eBay as an efx processor and preamp...anyone have any experience with this particular model?

The Pod XT Pro (or regular bean Pod) can work as a preamp in front of a power amp. I gigged an XT Pro into a Mesa 20/20 for a year or so, and it worked great.

I do experiments in sound whenever time permits and

you can never know whats going to sound acceptable..

sadly, most things don't mate very well.

I havent tried the pods...never liked them from the git-go...

but so far the Solid State pre's never sound as good as the tube pre's...

hence my addiction to MTS
