3d aux7 towards the front closest to the grillcloth.

The tube closest to the grill is the input tube.

    Tracing out the ciruit

Sorry about that I made a typo in my above post and didnt realize it. Its 6 volts not 16volts. 12ax7 can operate between 6.3volts and 12.6 volts on the heater filaments. Why would wonder if the tubes are used for tone? Dont take this the wrong way but try googling some basic tube amp theory and...

    Tracing out the ciruit

Yes that is what you see glowing. V1 A and B are both hot with 6.3 volts what Sacred Groove described above would result in a module that doesnt work if I am understanding what he wrote correctly.

    Tracing out the ciruit

depends on the module. Some dont use the first side of tube 1. All the high gain modules use all 4 gain stages though. If you hold the module up to a light with it removed you can see the traces are layered so some are invisible unless viewed with a backlight. Hope the helps

    procedure for exchanging modules

That is not accurate. Standby kills the high voltage from the input transformer after the recitifer and the B+ filter section to all of the amp including the preamp section. The tubes continue to glow because the heater circuit is split off the input transformer and goes through its own rectifier.

The great recording, EQ-ing, IR's and other stuff thread!!!

Oops I appologize LOL  There is no right or wrong, and I could go on for hours about how I actually mix. What I was explaining in my post is what I do on the front end of the track when I am recording. So all the eq would be done with an off board eq. Knowing that most people on here...

The great recording, EQ-ing, IR's and other stuff thread!!!

Ok so I thought I would put together a little tutorial on EQing heavy nu-metal style guitars. Like in all genres of music you have to get the best sound coming out of the speaker you have choosen to mic. That being said I personally think the heavy modern sound when recorded prior to any eq...

Sorry Ive got a bit off topic here but I wanted to post some examples. Here is what I was refering to when it comes to cymbal. This is a standard high freq eq sweetener shape for overhead drum mics http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9106468 And this is how most heavier overhead mics are eq'd...

Um not to be contrary but Slippy has never said that. Here is the post you are speaking of from Slipperman Mojo I respect your wish to stay pure to tone, but in todays industry it is a requirement and any good AE that says they dont use heavy eq on heavy guitars is liar. As far as...

Try putting a thin eq rip of like -3db with a q of 2.4ish at 6k. That will help kill the fizz.

All I did was run your clip through Voxengo Boogex with a Mesa cab ir loaded then copied the track and sent it through a Marshall cab ir. Then just jockeyed the faders to shape the sound a bit. Some corrective EQ could help with the clarity in the lowend during the chugs where the accent notes...

Are you using cab impulses? Your description makes me think you are recording the dry amp sound with no cab. Edit: Mojo good job. I like the vibe

    brit module PCB's

Here are the parts that need to be changed and the value they should be. That will get you there then you can fine tune these values to taste. Is it only one module that is doing this? Sometimes certain modules make bad contact and can do this.

    RM100 Complete Schematics

Just a warning there are several errors on these schematics, and I dont mean just component values. Some of the circuit routing is dead wrong. Its been awhile since I went through these I cant remember the errors. And yes Cap is a horrible program.
