The Vox goes through the loop through an EbTech line level shifter to keep signal levels cool.

Quick question for you... Looks like you're using both sides of the Ebtech?

In theory (bear with me), the MOD50 would send at line level and would need to be stepped down to instrument level for the Vox input. But does the Vox output a line or instrument level signal? I could see it being either, since the manual says it can be plugged directly into a PA or into the front of a guitar amp. So I'm thinking if the Vox has a line level output, it wouldn't need to be shifted back for up for the MOD50 return, while an instrument level output would.

Just curious about this... was thinking about trying a Boss GT8 (yet again) with the Ebtech shifter using the 4-cable method as follows:
guitar -> GT8 input
GT8 loop send -> M4 input (because the GT8 should send at instrument level, right?)
M4 output -> Ebtech -> GT8 loop return
GT8 outputs -> VHT 2/50/2 inputs

So I'm thinking I'd only need to use one side of the Ebtech for this setup. Makes sense?

Hey B,

I posted on the other thread and I think you have the right idea. I do it this way because I also send signal out of the loop of the Vox for chorusing, and the whole deal just seemed to sound and function better this way. I have the Vox set to pedal level output. I set it up the way you were saying too and it also worked just as well. These Ebtech thingys are versatile and will really do whatever you need it to. :wink:

A wee bit of an update...I took matters into my own (somewhat incapable) hands and tried to make my own rack case due to the shipping issues. It's definitely far from the good stuff, but it will do what I need it to which is simply be there and keep my stuff held together nicely.

How do I post the pics?

They are custom made for me in white, using the Lynch Box chassis, and are outfitted with blue channel lights and a blue power indicator.

My guitar signal is split via A/B (both on) as I use both heads at once, in stereo. Each head is plugged into a custom white R412XLX cabinet (2-Celestion V30?s and 2-Celestion G12T-75?s in an ?X? pattern).

My Randall RF3 footswitch controls both heads (at the same time) AND my TC Electronics G-Major effect processor (the footswitch and the RM100?s have built-in MIDI circuits for this very purpose).

My channel?s are set this way: Channel 1- Clean, using both heads? channel 1 slots, with Blackface modules in both, set the same. Channel 2- Rhythm, using the heads? channel 2 slots, head one loaded with an SLPLUS module, head two loaded with an XTC module. Channel 3- Lead, using channel 3 slot in head one loaded with an XTC module (gain, mid, and level boosted) and channel 2 slot in head two with the XTC module.

These amps RULE!!!! I still love my V2's but these amps RULE!!!
