Hi,

just wondering if somebody replaced the vent with some quieter model. I use the RM20 at home and mostly play relatively silent. Did some of you tried out a silent PC vent? Is it worth the effort?

Thanks!

I am definately replacing the cooling fan in my RM4s, they are silly loud although of decent quality. I tend to prefer Scythe S-Flex fans for computers and Terrarium vent fans. They are a good balance of low noise and higher flow. A good rule of thumb is that thicker fans (25mm depth +) will have a greater fan blade pitch and be more efficient. Make sure to get a ball bearing loaded model too. Its not hard to hook them of to a reostat or pot. control either.

Somebody know if it's usual 12V pc vents?
Need to unscrew the back of the RM20 for getting a view on it.

Can't say for sure on your RM20, but my MOD50 looks to have a typical 12V PC style fan. Not sure what if it's 80mm or 120mm or whatever, but it appears standard and is a straightforward replacement.

Mine is a little noisy, but I like that so I know it's on and working :)
