Well the title suggests what i'm asking.

I've heard of quite a few people using these and supposedly they sound amazing,

I've been through JJ 6L6's, TAD 6L6's, Ruby STR 6L6's, Ruby EL34, Winged C EL34, and Svet 6550's.

I love the JJ 6L6s in the RT 2/50, still trying to tinker with the right EL34, i'm looking at either a Tung Sol 5881 or Tung Sol EL34B

I've also used the JJ E34L's and liked them too.

But.....

On one of the websites i wanted to buy the TS 5881 from it said that the tube was only rated of up to 400V, the RT 2/50's run at approx 500V.

So my question is has anyone run into any troubles?

Cheers,
Tys

I've run different power tubes in my Lynchbox 100, and have had no problems with 5881...The tubes that had weird bias issues going on were a pair of KT66's....
