Egnater Renegade strong on EL34 side, very weak on the 6L6 side

Hello everyone. I purchased a used Egnater Renegade and the EL34 side of thigs sounds glorious on both channels. Unfortunately, the 6L6 side is very weak on both channels. I swapped the 6L6 pair with new to no avail. I'm hoping someone here can provide some suggested fixes e.g. change any of the preamp tubes? Thank you

Hey VBF, I had a Renegade as well that was the same. I think that's just how the design is and the difference between the tubes. I think it's the more scooped American flavor as opposed to the mid Heavy British style not a defect in your amp.​
