I just had my amp serviced. RM50. For my amp, the problem was the BIAS POT. It had gotten fried and the slightest bump would cause all tubes to run wild (for a lack of a better description). Cure = new bias pot and double checked all soldering. Got some new tubes, too. Love these amps...

Boss BD-2 all the way. Very low gain/high vol for an awesome push with just a bit of hair on it. By the way, it can get pretty greasy if you want it to. I've had modded ones too, but just a stock BD-2 is what I use with my Brahma. I also have a modded SD-1, but I pretty much use this to push...

Dude - I wish. I love Clutch. Just an amazingly tight/loose and heavy band. I think I've got pretty much everything they've done besides the new DVD/CD but I wouldn't say they are a primary influence. Maybe subliminal... Thanks though - love that band.

Yes - I run the Brahma with the gain at about 4; the level just about all of the way up, and the master as high as possible (depending on the club/situation). I goose it with a stock BD2. I run an SD-1 after the blues driver, too...just to push it over the edge.

Man, that metal zone is not going to sound cool as a boost. Yuk. I've always liked the Boss Blues Driver as a tubey/gritty boost MUCH better than any tube screamer copy. Check out the Keeley version. Try an SD-1 too - although it will rob some low end/low mid. KE

I've been wanting to check ALL of those pedals out. The modulation dual-design looks excellent as well. Still - whenever I start considering these things I wonder if they can beat a good 'ol pedal board w/ multiple boxes.

I am totally bummed that we aren't seeing any new Randall gear at NAMM 09. I'm sorry - but for most people, the RM12 seems pretty much useless. I cannot wait to see what they come up with (especially new sig gear/modules)... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

Well, the Brahma is pretty clean sounding and tone wise I think owns the pretty much anything else that Randall has released that is 'british'. LOVE the Brahma. Agree - Super V is definitely a VOX IN A BOX! Great quote jimosity! Hard to beat the Lynch models. Will we ever see more?

At the risk of being totally redundant...this has been covered many times on the forum... ...and everyone has a favorite boost... I like the Boss Blues Driver with the Brahma. I like the Super V best with a distortion box (MXR CLASSIC!)

Yes - you can easily nail an awesome clean tone with the gain set medium and then crank for overdrive. The Brahma is perfect for this. As far as the metal tones...I'd say yes to that too...but you would really have to use 'proper EQ and Boost' as you said. Really, the Brahma is one...

The Boss BD-2 Blues Driver is an awesome (and tube-like) overdrive that does a nice job pushing modules. I keep the gain around one and it seems (to ME) to add just enough edge. I adjust the level so that there is just a slight push in vol. Love it. I've also got an SD-1. I use this AFTER...
